Anticater VK 01 not entering sleep mode

I connected to knob via the 2.4GHz dongle to my PC. It works but I am having some issue with the battery life which is about 2 days.

Looking at the manual, it appears that the dongle does not enter sleep mode, which should consume about 2uA. However given my battery life, the device appears to consume about 4-5mA. I did another experiment and set the led color to green via the software. The led never turned off, even though I unplugged the 2.4 GHz connector. (from the manual “Note: The Bluetooth/2.4G mode is to ensure wireless battery life. Therefore, the backlight will only light up when the connection is recognized. Wireless mode does not support constant light.“) So I guess this is anohter sign that the knob does not go into the sleep mode?

I also could not find a way to update the firmware. Therefore I would like to ask for some help here since I wanted to use the knob wirelessly.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused! The latest firmware version of the device supports constant lighting in wireless mode, while the user manual you referred to is an earlier version with outdated instructions. You can select LED 0 mode to turn off the lighting.

There are two main scenarios for the excessive battery drain:

  1. Please confirm that the device is fully charged, which requires a charging duration of at least 2 hours.

  2. If you are using a computer with macOS, the system does not support the device to enter sleep mode. The device will remain in working state continuously as long as the computer is not shut down, and cannot enter low-power sleep mode.

Please follow the above instructions for troubleshooting and check if the issues with your device are resolved.
